Rural development programme 2014.-2020.

The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) is one of the most important areas of action of the European Union institutions. Rural development, as the second pillar of the CAP, is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).

Objectives of the programme: fostering competitiveness of agriculture, ensuring sustainable management of natural resources and climate change and achieving balanced territorial development of rural areas, including creation and preservation of jobs.

Total allocation for the Rural Development Program of the Republic of Croatia for the 2014-2020 period amounts to EUR 2.383 billion, of which EUR 2.026 billion will be financed from the EAFRD and the rest from the national budget of the Republic of Croatia.

The Programme has defined 16 measures whose goals are increasing the competitiveness of Croatian agriculture, forestry and food processing industry, as well as improving the living and working conditions in rural areas in general.
